A new season as Warrior football opens Saturday August 29th.

With the memory of a 3-9 2008 season hanging over his head, Warrior football head coach Kelly Scott has a big season ahead of him in the opener of the 2009 season against Faulkner on the 29th.

This will be the second time that these schools have met with the warriors coming out with a big first time meeting win 26-7 back during the 07-08 NAIA college football season. The warrior running game seemed to lack an offensive influence in the game as the Eagles defense held the warriors to only 62 rushing yards the entire game. Can the ground unit break a thousand yard season as the warriors open the football season to a familiar face in that of the Faulkner Eagles?

This should mark the the forth season as head coach for Kelly Scoot who at one point in time coached as a high-school defensive head coach at Lake Wales Senior high-school as well as a start at a college coaching career as a defensive coordinator with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Coach Scott your groove should be set and we want to see what it is as far as a football aspect you have to give to a demanding public that the warrior football team has come to attract. You once carried the team to placing a national ranking and developed scouting potential when the aspects of the NAIA All independent team is expressed.

This also marks the first season that the warrior atletic department will be aid with musical inspration. Webber International University now has an active band that should make its debut at the first home game of the season on the 29th. This is alot to look forward to as the warriors come to kick things off.
